Cookery Packages 

Kerala ha a distinctive cuisine, very unusual and different from the rest of India.Cooking in Kerala is all abbout discoveries, aromas and colours.Kerala cuisine is very hot and spicy and offers several gastronomic opportunities to those who willing to experiment with local cuisine.Traditonally in Kerala food is served on a banana leaf.

Kerala offers to the food lover a variety of delicacies from the bland rice cakes to the tangy meat curries. Kerala cuisine is as vast as it is simple and even the everyday meal is quite elaborate.

Kerala utensils : Traditional cooking vessels are made of brass or bronze having long necks and round bottoms.Special Kerala delicasies like "Idli" ,"puttu","appam" are prepared in these utensils.

The region is diverse with spice plantations, coconut palm-flanked beaches and an abundance of tropical fruits. Creative use of these ingredients has evolved a local cuisine filled with unforgettable aromas and colours.

Cookery sessions can be incorporated into your holiday where you can learn how to prepare traditional Kerala dishes. The sessions are fun and easy to follow.
You will cook in a typical Kerala kitchen under the guidance of  an experienced and expert cook.

3 nights/4 days (Resident Guests) Cooking class Package

This package is offer able for a single person as well as a group of minimum of 2-persons and a maximum of 3 persons in each group.

First day:
Arrival, Welcome Drink, Getting Freshened Up, Talk with the Host, Cooking Basics and Demonstrations, Lunch, Dinner Cooking Session, Dinner.

Second day:
Breakfast, walk through the below sea level rice farm, village & traditional heritage 'tharavadu' (house) visit. Afternoon Cooking Session, Lunch, Relaxation.  Dinner Cooking Session. Dinner.

Third day:
Breakfast, Relaxing time, Lunch, Afternoon cooking session, Visit to the Champakulam Church(1500 years Old with Mural Paintings), Snake Boat and visit traditional old village Champakulam.

Dinner Cooking Session. Dinner.

Fourth day:
Breakfast and QA Section. A warm Good-bye by the Host.

The rate for this cookery class are as follows:
Rs. 17000/- for one person in a  AC Kerala Cottage double room. (We do not have single-rooms)

Rs. 21000/- for two persons, in a  AC Kerala Cottage double room.

Rs. 26000/- for three persons in a  AC Kerala Cottage double room with an extra bed.


The price includes breakfast, lunch and dinner of all 3 days, accommodation for 3 nights, all transportation and entry costs of the 3 day package. The pick up and drop from the Cochin airport, or any nearby destinations on arrival or departure would be provided at the relevant charges on request. The above rates are valid for a period of one year from 1st June 2010-31st Mar 2011.

 


 

7 nights/8 days (Resident Guests) Cooking class Package

This package is applicable for a single person as well as a group of minimum 2-persons and a maximum of 3 persons in each group.

First day:
Arrival, welcome drink, getting freshened up, talk with the host and family, lunch, An introductory discussion about the cooking class, relaxation, dinner.

Second day:
After breakfast learn about the spices used. Cooking session. Lunch. After lunch, relaxation. Cooking session in the evening. Dinner.

Third day:
Breakfast. After breakfast, there will be a cooking session before lunch. Lunch. After lunch, visit to the market to see and purchase the vegetables and fruits, etc. Dinner.

Fourth day:
Breakfast, Relaxing time, Lunch, Afternoon cooking session, Visit to the Champakulam Church(1500 years Old with Mural Paintings), Snake Boat and visit traditional old village Champakulam.

Fifth day:
Breakfast, walk through the below sea level rice farm, village & traditional heritage 'tharavadu' (house) visit. Afternoon Cooking Session, Lunch, Relaxation.  Dinner Cooking Session. Dinner.

Sixth day:

Breakfast. After breakfast, cooking session before lunch. Lunch. After lunch, visit to Alleppey town,  market, Alleppey Beach, Ambalapuzha Temple which is a famous Krishna temple of this region constructed in line with traditional Kerala Architecture. Dinner


Seventh day:
Breakfast. Review session where everyone will analyze the progress that they made and can ask questions about the various recipes and further doubts. In the afternoon, there will be cooking class and in the evening there will be dinner class. Dinner.

Eighth day:
Breakfast and a warm good-bye by the host.

The rates for this cookery package are as follows:
Rs. 33000/- for one person with a  AC Kerala Cottage double room. We do not have single rooms.

Rs. 44000/- for two persons sharing an  AC Kerala Cottage double room.

Rs. 55000/- for three persons sharing a  AC Kerala Cottage double room with an extra bed.


The price includes breakfast on all days, lunch and dinner of all  days, except the sixth day, accommodation for 7 nights, all transportation and entry costs of the 8 day package. The pick up and drop from the Cochin airport, or any nearby destinations on arrival or departure would be provided at the relevant charges on request. The above rates are valid for a period of one year from  1st June 2010-31st Mar 2011.
